Darnell Jones has earned memberships in various organizations such as "Outdoor Painter's Society", "American Watercolor Society", "National Watercolor Society", and the prestigious "Oil Painters of America".

Mrs. Jones has been the recipient of many awards including the Dolphin Fellowship from the American Watercolor Society and regularly participates in the "Allied Artists" Show, the "Arts for the Parks" show and "Oil Painters of America" competitions.

Darnell has exhibited at the Oklahoma City Art Museum and was included in the Art From the Parks magazine published by North Light Books as well as having been honored with several feature articles in various artist's magazines.

Darnell started her career in art as a watercolorist, but has made a successful transition to a full time oil painter. Nationally recognized artists and instructors who have played a part in her development as an oil painter have been Kevin McPherson, Scott Christensen, Bob Kuhn, John Encinias and others. She now regularly teaches and juries art shows.
