I know that the fort was built to protect the San Francisco Bay bay, and it faithfully fulfilled its mission over many years. Now, by looking through an opening in the fort's wall, I can view the strong supports of the Golden Gate Bridge and reflect on how it is also honoring the task it was given with equal steadfastness. This is an example for me to follow. —Charlotte Cook-Fuller
