The sheer beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge enveloped me many years ago when moving to Hayward as a high school senior. I still feel its guardianship of my country in the graceful way it joins two sections of coast. This is my bridge, and I sense it calling out, “There’s a whole world of exploration out there!” —Charlotte Cook-Fuller
