Paraphrased hospital literature: This is the nation's first all-electric, carbon-neutral hospital. Its art committee has chosen works in all media, including work celebrating the flora and fauna of our region, its marshes, chaparral, beaches, and parkland.....highlighting the diversity of Southern California, our cultural heritage, and activities promoting health and wellness. Art there will hopefully provide inspiration and comfort to patients and visitors!
The medical complex overlooks the San Joaquin Marsh Reserve and features nature trails to enhance the health and well-being of patients and visitors alike. It will be adjacent to the new UCI Institute and Museum for California Art, to which The Irvine Museum has donated its permanent collection of California plein-air paintings.
