Artist: Norbert Schwontkowski (German, 1949-2013)
Norbert Schwontkowski (1949–2013) was a German painter known for his surreal, introspective works featuring dreamlike figures in ambiguous spaces. He studied fine arts in Bremen and Hamburg, held exhibitions across Europe and New Zealand, and received major art awards including the Bremen Art Prize and Overbeck Prize. His works are part of both private and public collections internationally. Schwontkowski also taught art in several German cities and served as a professor of painting at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg from 2005 to 2009.
