In 2004 I got to TA for Scott Donahue's figure sculpting class at CCA(C). He taught a method of packing concrete into plaster molds and realized I could saaadapt his technique to glass. I was renting studio space from David Ruth in East Oakland and developed techniques for creating hollow forms by packing glass frit into refractory molds and sintering them at low temperatures. This one is based on my Rabbi's head that I sculpted in the Rodin Room at the Palace of Legion of Honor, San Francisco.
