Siegel describes his creative process:

Celestial Gateway is a photograph I captured in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near the Rubicon using my Sony a7R III. The image features a fire watch tower silhouetted beneath the Milky Way during a meteor shower. I waited patiently for the Milky Way to align just right above the tower, allowing both the streaks of meteors and the stars to form a perfect celestial composition. Standing there, surrounded by silence and starlight, it truly felt like I was at the threshold of another world, a gateway to the cosmos. The name Celestial Gateway felt fitting, reflecting both the setting of the watch tower and the awe-inspiring beauty of the night sky.

Celestial Gateway was acquired in 2025 by the Art on Campus Task Force as part of an ongoing effort to grow the LPC art collection, with a focus on local Bay area artists and LPC student artists. Learn more at www.laspositascollege.edu/artoncampus.
