I have often considered the benefits of those who are fortunate helping those who are less fortunate, but this year as I was pondering D&C 81:5 I thought about my closest relationships. This is where I have the most opportunity to love and to serve and also where I am served the most. In my marriage and family, no distinctions of fortune are required. We all need help, and we all strive to help. I find that lifting another requires my hands to also rise up. It can sometime become unclear who is doing the lifting and who is being lifted. As soon as I serve, I am blessed; and when I can't find the strength, I can reach out for help. I hope to remember this for all of my brothers and sisters on this earth.
