"Mother" is the collaboration that became this show. I had painted a series of mothers, including "Divine Mother (Sketch)", and this one felt incomplete. Knowing Lovetta's gift of representing motherhood, I asked if she'd like to borrow a couple paintings and see if they spoke to her.

I was excited when Corey reached out about collaborating on some paintings. I love painting mothers and children for so many reasons. The angel mother symbol in this painting especially resonates with me because of my own children who have died. I hope that somehow they can still feel my love.
