Our present is shaped by parallel worlds that, like echo chambers, affirm their own existence. These worlds do not truly engage in dialogue with one another; they merely share the same space. The series ParallelWorlds translates this social fragmentation into a material collage of acrylic and jute threads. It is an attempt to make our contemporary inability to engage with one another aesthetically tangible.
The works reject visual reconciliation. The disparate elements, synthetic paint and raw jute threads, coexist on handmade paper in a state of silent, permanent separation. A coexistence in which different materials by-pass-each-other. There is no synthesis, no genuine encounter, and no productive friction. Enclosed within the closed system of the object frame, the works reflect a social reality in which differing worldviews coexist side by side, without any real interest in forming a genuine connection.
