Driven, the Edwardian Cyborg Wheelchair, is an electric wheelchair re-imagined as an Edwardian throne. The chair was the first in my mobility art series. It was originally designed for Peter Soby, who graciously donated his old wheelchair to me and modeled it at an art event. Driven is upholstered in remnant fabrics, salvaged hardware, and old drapery trim. The back and sides were refurbished in 2013 after realizing that the first attempt did not provide adequate balance for a paraplegic user.
