The hickory nuts and walnuts start to fall and then the leaves begin to turn. Although my birthday is just before spring, I mark my years by the Autumn season and feel as though I am embarking on the next yearly chapter. I love the smell in the air and the warm days and cool nights of October in Missouri and the feeling of Mother Earth bedding down for a long winter's nap. My friend Larry Hallett rescues old log buildings. I painted this one on his property. Wouldn't it be special to spend some Autumns days and nights in that little cabin? How do you mark your years?
