Painted on a very rainy day in Augusta, Missouri. Normally, the leaves are all leafed out during this annual event. I found it very difficult to make pretty paintings with such bare trees, but in this case, I think the stark, leafless tree with its spindly limbs lends itself well to the ancient feel of the this historic grain elevator.
