Three different processes were involved in its creation.
A transparent cyan sheet of glass was decorated with opaque vanilla 'stars'.
Following that, I worked with opaque glass colors which represent sand and water to me.
These two sheets of glass were fused together so that the transparent sheet was on one side and the opaque sand and water backed most of it.
The patterned slab of glass was taken to a glass blowing studio, where it was 'rolled up' and blown into a vessel form. At this point the rolled up vessel might have been mistaken for a ceramic pot.
A window was cut into the pot to display the starry night inside after which it was embellished with copper.
