Baby American Alligator, Taken in Jacksonville, Florida
Don't let his size fool you, he would love to chomp down on a finger or two. Although he would prefer a small invertebrate, particularly an insect, a small fish or frog.
He doesn't look much like his momma at this point, juvenile alligators sport a yellow banding that fades away as they mature. The coloring provides effective camouflage, until it is old enough to defend itself.
When grown he will be around 13 feet, and a force to be reckoned with.
