Acosta Bridge - Jacksonville, Florida
The original Acosta Bridge was the first automobile and only streetcar crossing over the St. Johns. Originally known as the St. Johns River Bridge, the "Yellow Monster" was eventually named for City Councilman St. Elmo W. Acosta.
In the early 90's that bridge was replaced with the current one that you see in this photo. I always felt that it was fitting that it is illuminated yellow, considering what the locals called the original one.
It is hard to take your eyes off of it if you are anywhere near the river-walk at night.
