Lois Keller
Circuitbox Crossed by Lois Keller Image: VIGNETTES
The Vignettes are a series of works on paper that feature a repeated, silhouetted human form. The figure remains ambiguous through most of its iterations, creating a mirror for the audience to reflect on. This series accentuates Keller’s ability to communicate a dynamic range of emotion and atmosphere with pieces wherein the subject is de centered from the canvas’ content. It also speaks to her experience as an adopted child, as a means of coping with that dissonance of identity.
