Angel of the Ultramarine

Angel Of The Ultramarine is an imagined scene of an angel and her lord set in a bold and lush ultramarine background on a hand painted 9” x 3” glass tile that is sealed in resin.

This is a one-of-a-kind original.

It starts with a fine clear glass tile, with a snow white backing that allows light inside to refract and play with the media. Photos show how differing light plays with the colors.
I used acrylic paints to lay down a base. Using a combination of alcohol inks, acrylic inks and enamels laid down in multiple layers, I detailed and embellished and the scene. 

Finally, the painting was sealed in archival epoxy resin to permanently protect the painting.

This piece is ready to hang using 3M Command strips which are included.
