A robust 3-day painting workshop with Liz Morton
Immerse yourself into color, texture, and abstraction with Internationally known Carolina Artist Gallery Resident Artist, Liz Morton. Liz is a wildly creative innovator and has developed a range of techniques to create organic imaginings and transparent views in painting. She will demonstrate and guide you to use techniques she has developed that incorporate a diverse range of materials highlighting the impact of texture. Students who have a desire to find their own personal voice in an abstract manner, will find many opportunities to flourish in this robust workshop. Liz will guide students over 3 days in a variety of inspiring chats, comprehensive material and technique demonstrations, and personal guidance daily.

Find your Creative Voice
4 Weekly Sessions (Wednesday Nights) with Liz Morton.
Explore the issues central to painting and the function of developing one’s own creative voice. Come explore your passion, your inspiration, and ideas through process and use language to give voice to your vision. Working from your source material ideas will be developed with emphasis on awareness during making. Come develop a deeper understanding of your own inclinations and the role they play in your painting. *Bring your own supplies (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed, creative inspiration, etc.).
When: Aug 9, 16, 23, & 30, 2023 (Wednesdays)

Inducing Abstraction in Landscape Paintings
A 2-day painting workshop with Liz Morton
The natural world lends itself wonderfully well to abstraction. Nature’s range of light and atmospheric personalities; her variety of colors, shapes, and textures, are all inherently abstract. We will use ultra-simplification; reduction in detail (subtractive); expressive mark-making; texture effects along with color alteration and size distortion.as pathways toward abstraction.
