The squares are applied to a blue cotton backing. Between squares are various logos of agencies thoughout the community.
In 1985, Littleton quilter Marie Conway decided to make a history quilt for Littleton. It was finished in September 1989, just in time for Littleton's centennial year of 1990. Marie's son, David, was an avid supporter of the quilt and was very anxious to see the finished work. After he died in 1989, she named the quilt "David's Hometown," as a memorial to him. It was purchased in 1990 by the Littleton Fine Arts Committee (now the Littleton Fine Arts Board) with a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), the Littleton Friends of the Library and Museum (FOLM), and the Littleton Centennial Commission.
