I had been out of the studio for a while...trying to save up to cover my living expenses. And when I got back to continue my studio work I had a hard time getting loose and creative. I looked at my inspiration images tacked to walls all over my studio and saw a photo of the pines on the coast at Cranes Beach in Massachusetts where I grew up. I was a winter pick so had a quiet, thoughtful resonance to it which I tried to bring out in this painting. I thought...just do it! It is not my usual style of painting but it helped me on my path.
It is mounted in a beautiful, hard wood floater frame.
