Lisa Ransom Smith is a painter from Fort Wayne, Indiana. After earning a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from Columbus College of Art and Design, she began working in the medium of pastel. By blending ideas of drawing and painting, she embraces local and regional landscapes in her work. The paintings reflect her interest in the chosen view, at times evoking ideas of personal expression as colors shift in response to changing light.
Her work is in private collections both locally and nationally. In addition to being a studio artist, she teaches courses in the medium of pastel: “Pastel: Explore the Medium of Degas, Cassatt and Whistler,” “Plein Air Painting” and “Painting the Landscape in Pastel” in and around the Fort Wayne area.
