Coupeville is a delightful town on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest. It was the setting for movies including ‘Practical Magic’. Coupeville has great sights, shopping, food & experiences! The awesome Aqua Gifts & Little Red Hen Bakery (which has moved up a block) are featured in this artwork.
The original art is mixed media on 11x14 gallery wrapped canvas. Original art elements include acrylic paints & markers, collage techniques, gel medium, ephemera and more. There are dictionary word treasures hidden in the art as well!
To disguise the vehicles in the photos I used glittered blue tissue paper, which was a happy accident.
It changed the front of the buildings into salt water, which I then added the sailboats from a vintage photograph.
