This summer pasture shimmers with life as monsoon rains sweep the high desert. I paint what I know, and I was so delighted to be around to see these high desert pastures go from dessicated browns to tall and green in a matter of days after our first measurable rain of the year. Nature seems to know what she's doing, and here in the mountains, with our short growing season, plants flower and go to seed and grass shoots up almost overnight.
