Every color in the high desert was brighter, and the dirt road more welcoming after a late afternoon rain shower washed the dust from this West Texas dirt road near tiny Marathon, Texas. This view from just outside Big Bend National Park could be most anywhere sunset brings welcome rain and clouds gilded in the colors of precious jewels.
