There's something heartwarming about sunbeams breaking through clouds at dawn. It's as if those beams of light are reaching out to take your hand, encouraging you to enter the day with every hope of it being a good one.

This miniature cloudscape, like the sky, is heavily layered with color that shines through each cloud. Pastels, tiny particles of pure pigment are my favorite medium for painting the vaporous nature of clouds.
