🌞 As I sprawled in the shade, I realized I was the king of the world. There I was, belly up on cool concrete with my favorite sweaty human rubbing said belly while he sipped a cold one. At his feet, in uncut grass, grasshoppers did their imitations of rattlers; jays flitted around us like old friends coming for dinner on the porch. But I digress…Blue jays for dinner is another story, for another time.
Lindy’s watercolor vignette captures one of those laid-back moments that we cats are so adept at. Belly rubs remind us to slow down and roll with the simple pleasures of life. My old human’s gentle touch (such calloused fingers he has!) and the satisfying crunch of that empty beer afforded us that kind of peace that purrs, “Just be.” I’m always happy to accommodate.
Can you think of a finer summer moment? Not me. “Cold Beer, Warm Heart” should hang where ever you need reminding how important down time is, especially if you’re a cat. Simple moments warm your heart. Share your thoughts! Meow.
