In my curiosity about the problem about textile waste, and my attempts to use fabric that would have otherwise been headed for landfill, I have become interested in scraps of fabric that are considered small, worthless and unusable.
I find that when I sort my scraps by color, the work I make can resemble paintings, but they retain the texture, memory and historical narratives that fabrics inherently carry.
This can be installed straight or crinkled.
