Robert Crawford Crowe was born October 25, 1951, in Fargo, ND, to James and Marjorie (Thompson) Crowe. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1970. Growing up, he spent many summers at Round Lake, MN.
Bob attended college in Montana and MSUM, receiving degrees in Fine Arts and Education. He worked for the family business in his early adult years then became an artist and teacher, eventually becoming a full-time artist.
Bob loved spending time at his farm south of Moorhead where he loved painting scenes of nature and old farm buildings. He was an independent, loving, curious, creative person. Bob and his fiancé, Janet Jones, spent the last 28 years enjoying life together.
