  • Artist: Richard Anuszkiewicz (American, 1930-2020)

Richard Anuszkiewicz was an American painter born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1930. He studied under Josef Albers, whose teachings shaped his lifelong focus on color and perception.

He lived and worked most of his life in New York City, where he became a major figure in Op Art. Using simple geometric forms and intense contrasts, his paintings seem to glow vibrate and shift as you look at them. His work remains relevant today for showing how color alone can create energy emotion and a powerful sense of space.
