This piece honors the families that settled he West. Journal entries, written by the artist after reading numerous journals of frontier women, reflect the joys, heartaches, and hardships that they faced. Metal artifacts were excavated from a ranch on the Rocky Mountain Front Range and speak to the longevity of the early families and their abiding influence.
