One of the monoprints in Carolyn Castaños' series Drug Lord and Patron features the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar. Through 37 different monoprints, Castaños explores the imagery surrounding Escobar's infamy. This particular print presents multiple versions of his likeness, framed by beautifully rendered golden flowers. Falling red drops add a haunting element, inviting the viewer to reflect more deeply on the subject.
