I was introduced to this natural wonder as a young camp counselor who, with more experienced leaders, led kids to the summit, then through the narrowest of cave passages veiled in quivering daddy-longlegs. This giant dome of pink granite rises above the countryside between the towns of Llano and Fredericksburg, Texas. The park offers not only the challenge of the climb, but trail hiking, cave adventures, rock-climbing and star-gazing as well.
