Storytelling primarily hinges on an emotional response: shown perhaps in the eyes of a portrait, in a viewer’s reaction, or in my own attitude as I paint. The story often is told quite literally by subject matter, but there is also a story in composition, colors, techniques, or materials. I tell my own story through my artwork.
