Almost/Nearly is a series of photographs produced as a
book project for 2020 "Kissing Through a Curtain" catalog
with Mass MoCA. The series considers the gap created
between our thought process, our making process and our
means of communication with the spoke word. It begins
with something very well known, the palm of the hand, and
it gradually become more and more foreign with each
iteration of the image--through the printed image on paper,
to the cut and repaired paper the image sits upon. A
portion of the subject matter is sacrificed through the
process of communication.
