"Take 5" explores the elements of the jazz song by the same name, as performed by Dave Brubeck. Meter and metaphor are central to this work. The roundness of the work accentuated by the handling of the score. Having performed as a jazz vocalist, and having grown up in and around music, this work is both perspective and retrospective.
