Texas strengths. The University of Texas and Texas A&M happily join in this iconic Texas landscape: a longhorn steer and the maroon Texas bluebonnets.
Legend has it that the Ag department at A&M created a variation on the classic blue colored bluebonnets. The variety blossoms in the A&M color of maroon and was secretly planted around their rival's campus at the University of Texas in Austin. Being the state flower, it is illegal to remove them.
This landscape was selected to be included in the Tournique Art Collective 'Texas Landscapes' show.
