Mapping The Document of Discovery through Genocide and Oppression Art Talk

Kym Cooper is a multidisciplinary artist who is was awarded an art residency in Lisboa, Portugal at Zaratan Arte Gallery in downtown Lisbon for the month of July. She painted and documented the enslavement of Portuguese Africans utilizing the Document of Discovery of 1452 which is when the Portuguese sailed to Africa to enslave Africans and Indigenous people of color.
