One of a kind photo collage (no editions). Portrait of Jessica Brooks, photographed in Snoqualmie, Washington in 2022. Her sweater is manually collaged with reproduced personal photographs, tracing her military family’s history in Appalachia.

Mixed media includes reproductions of subject's personal snapshots on Hahnemühle Rice Paper, archival glue, decorative paper, acrylic paint on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 paper (base print).

Artwork comes framed (white frame, white mat, plexiglass).

ABOUT THE SERIES:

American Portraits (working title) is an in-progress photo-collage series that seeks to honor the vast range of individual stories held within the American people. These large mixed-media portraits consider Americans from all walks of life, adorned with shared personal snapshots, revealing threads of ancestry and aspiration, a mix of hope, loss and dreams.
