Trumpeter Swans pause in Jackson Hole Wyoming on their annual migration, staying in the valley until the open water has frozen for the season. Here they are resting on the slushy ice of Flat Creek. I always seek out the swans when I am in the area and thrill to the sight of them cruising overhead or on one of the waterways. I wanted to capture the peaceful scene of the birds against the mountain backdrop.
