Lakeside Shade

The view from under my deck at Shay Lake in Oconto County WI, painted en plein air and finished in the studio. This is an iconic midsummer northern Wisconsin scene in a season with plenty of rain and sunshine. There are two figures standing close together at the end of the distant dock. The opposite shore is reflected in the lake. I wanted to suggest the lush backlit vegetation.
