Wow! So where do I start. I began this piece with a vision that took over five turns to get to this point. I wanted to push myself and explore a new direction of using collaged typographic as well as geometric patterns mixed in with a street style hand-painted main logo. The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year and I'm stoked how this piece turned out.
I'd tried some color mash ups, I tried integrating some found imagery I had photographed from some tour posters that were wheat pasted on the streets of Prague back when I was there in 2003 but nothing was really working til I went back and some album covers like their 1971 release STICKY FINGERS that was super simple and just black, white and red.
This piece, like so many is meant to be hung unframed. It has some really cool finished edges on my standard thick 1.5" gallery stretcher bars.
