This apparently whimsical combination of ocean creatures and the suggestion of a tree results from my preoccupation with environmental problems. I believe that the oceans and the forests of the world are seriously under threat. I also believe that oceans and forests are critical to managing our climate, our food chains and the quality of our air - and of our lives. The Tree of Life is in the Ocean is not such a whimsical combination of ideas then.
