This pair of gum trees, framed against the sky in the "Heure Bleue," a useful French term meaning the "blue hour" that occurs at late afternoon, as dusk approaches. During a short time, often less than an hour, as the light begins to fade, the colours of the landscape become more intense, especially the blues and greens, hence the Blue Hour.
