This piece is also available as a high-quality reproduction, framed and on view in my studio.
"Fly in the Sea, Swim in the Sky" was selected to be part of the exhibition at Manly Art Gallery and Museum in the "Environmental Art and Design Competition" in 2021.
This piece is built upon the idea that birds, as inhabitants of the air and most often nesting and living in trees are analogous to fish in the ocean, living in the water and many of them sheltering and feeding in coral reefs. Both types of creatures are totally dependent upon the air and water, forests and coral reefs . For the survival of these and all the creatures they represent, the air and the water must not be polluted or destroyed. We are polluting the ocean (and rivers, lakes as well as ourselves) with plastic waste which becomes minute plastic particles, and we are destroying the worlds forests at an alarming rate.
