Intense, painted during a one-month artist's residency in Japan, depicts a couple from a Canada-to-Japan flight, very colourfully dressed in extraordinarily ornate red and pink jackets with matching innerwear. The work contemplates these expensive materials' lifespan—will they go to landfill or a re-store?—reflecting on clothing industry toxicity and questioning both high-end and cheap, poorly made fashion, while musing on broader themes of consumption, waste, and environmental cost of our wardrobe choices and fashion industry's impact.
