These works mark the beginning of the Life After Life series—a 26-piece body of work exploring identity, power, and what remains when systems, roles, and constructed selves fall away. This series introduces Skully Jones, an alter ego and narrative vehicle through which these ideas are examined and challenged.
Created independently of any exhibition, these pieces were later selected for Woke, Triggered… at NEXT Gallery in Lakewood, Colorado (May 8–24, 2026), a juried show focused on protest, resistance, and the role of art in confronting systems of control.
As a paired composition, the work presents two perspectives of the same system. In one, authority collapses from within—revealing the instability beneath professional identity and institutional power. In the other, that same system is confronted externally, as figures move from conformity toward awareness and resistance.
Together, these works establish the foundation of the Life After Life narrative and the world of Skully Jones—where the question is not just what breaks down, but what remains after it does.
Additional works from this series will be released throughout 2026. These pieces, along with signed prints, will be available at the Golden Art Festival (June), Pearl Street Art Festival (July), and Breckenridge Art Festival (August).
