MOZAIK watercolors exhibited as "Mediterranean Images" at Muscatine Art Center/Museum of Art, The University of Iowa in 1985.
"Garden of Stone and Light", "Venezia", and "Mozaik" are extensive series, each with a Mediterranean theme. There is even a "suite" of media. In Achepohl's work as a whole, watercolors become intaglios become woodcuts become oils. Engravings become mezzotints become watercolor with pencil. Small becomes large and large becomes small. Blue and sand add red and black until jade takes over; after which blue, airier or darker; comes careening black.... each peice is put in play amdist everything else."
