Roadside Songs of Tuscany, first published in 1884, is a collection of songs, ballads and folk tales from Tuscany translated by the American artist and writer, Francesca Alexander. In 1882, she was introduced to John Ruskin, who purchased, edited and published the manuscript of Alexander's Roadside Songs of Tuscany, and later promoted her work during his lectures at Oxford.
