Looking into a frozen lake or pond there are things trapped under the surface- leaves, frozen air bubbles, water grasses that sway in the summer, but also have their movement frozen into a shape or gesture. Stuck, like being underwater, hard to move, hard to breath, hard to know where to go or how to move.
